Sugarman Crew officers - 839th Squadron
Members of the Joseph M. Sugarman Jr crew, who were assigned to the 839th Bomb Squadron, 487th Bomb Group, at Lavenham, England. This photo was taken during B-17 crew training in the States.
Left to Right: F/O William S. Crosland Jr (copilot), F/O James S. Barnett (navigator), 1/Lt Joseph M. Sugarman Jr (pilot), F/O Frank Badaluco in front of B-17 'Miss Q' during training in the United States. The first three were killed instantly when flak hit their B-17 and it went down over Hamburg on March 11, 1945. Badaluco was not with the crew when they went overseas. [Robert Schlotte]
