Ozbolt, King, Sherman and Baker died in the crash of B-24H 42-51197 after a midair collision over England on July 20. Lassandro, Carter, Everett and Savoy survived this mishap. For Everett and Henahan it was only a temporary escape from death. They were killed in action on August 25 when B-17G 43-37980 was shot down by flak over Rechlin airfield in Germany.
