1st Sgt Neal Holmes - 838th Squadron
Comment from Art Silva to Paul Webber, regarding Sgt Holmes - "The person in the photo is Neal Holmes, my 838th First Sergeant, a great human being and a 'father figure' for many young officers. He also gathered respect from us enlisted men. He meted out discipline to us enlisted men. Crews were a close unit and volunteered for their duty, so it was not an easy job for the First Sergeant to keep them in line."
