487th Bomb Group (H)
Station 137 - Lavenham, Suffolk, UK
22-Sep-43 to 7-Nov-45

Mission photo from 27-May-44
Mission to Metz Aero-Engine Works
Comment from research by Paul Webber - This mission photo shows Le Havre, France and the mouth of the Seine River. The direction of view is northeast. B-24s of the 487th Bomb Group are crossing the French coast several miles southwest of Le Havre, flying inbound to the target at Metz. The planes are probably flying between German flak batteries at Le Havre and Caen.
