by Roger Lane
Born in 1948 Roger, an Englishman, lives in the village of Acton in Suffolk, which is located in the area of the old Sudbury airfield used by the 486th Bomber Group during the Second World War. Roger, a carpenter by trade, took up art again after his family had grown up and needed something to do on those long winter evenings. In 1994 he painted four pictures for a group of visiting veterans. They proved to be so popular with both the visitors and local people that the collection has now amounted to twenty six aviation paintings, five of which depict aircraft of the 487th. These prints were taken from the original pictures painted in oils. Prints (16"x12") are available at $30 US dollars each, including post and packaging.
