B-17 #44-8606 - 836th Squadron
Comment from Stewart Evans: On the morning of Tuesday 6th February 1945 B-17G-75-VE 44-8606, 2G-C, failed to stop on the runway, overshot, skidded through a field on the boundary of the aerodrome, and came to rest on the main Sudbury to Bury St Edmunds road (today's A134). The aircraft was damaged beyond repair and was salvaged.
